Friends' Association

St Bernadette’s Catholic Primary School & Nursery has an active and supportive Friends Association. The Friends Association encourage parents, grandparents, staff and friends, to get involved in school life raising extra funds for our school. The school budget is always stretched in many directions and with recent cuts, allows extra items, trips and resources to be purchased. As a parent, carer or guardian of a child at the school you automatically become a member of the Friends Association.
Many parents have particular talents and skills that can be utilised throughout our school, as a regular helper or just a 'one off'. No special qualifications are required other than the willingness to get involved and get hands on! It's always great to find out what parents can offer with the shared interest of making the school a better place for all pupils and families.
Everyone has a role to play! It's completely up to you...
A committee, which administers the affairs of the Friends Association, is elected at the Annual General Meeting.  However, the Friends Association is more than just a committee.  If you are a new parent to the school you will get a great deal of enjoyment and satisfaction out of either supporting the events that we are organising or by helping to organise and run them.
The success of the Friends would not be possible without the help that we get from Parents/Carers and the school staff. If you have some spare time, why not join our Friends Association Committee or make yourself available at some of our forth-coming events.
Contact us if you want to get involved or have any interesting fundraising ideas. We are always open to new ideas and welcome any suggestions from an idea for a stall to a suggestion for a whole event. Also watch out for details of meetings to discuss events and come and join us.
Notices will be found in the playground, on the notice board, on facebook and newsletters.

Donations
Donations play a very big role in our fundraising efforts and we are not just talking about the very important MUFTI day donations, prize donations or donations of time given by parents for helping on stalls, wrapping prizes or folding tickets.
Maybe your company or the company you work for discard goods when they can’t be sold which we could sell or use as prizes.
Do you work for a bank, or a large corporation that operates a Corporate Matched Funding policy that could help the school?

The Friends Association is registered with Easyfundraising, a free service that allows charities and good causes to raise money when their supporters shop online with over 3300 retailers. It doesn’t cost you a penny, you pay the same as if you ordered on the retailers site, the only difference is the retailer makes a donation straight to the Friends Association..
It’s really simple to get started;
Sign up for free, go to www. easyfundraising.org.uk and register with our cause “St Bernadettes Friends Association – Harrow”
Then just get shopping – your donations will be collected by easyfundraising and automatically sent to St Bernadette’s Friends Association. It couldn’t be easier!
There are no catches or hidden charges and St Bernadette’s Friends Association, and ultimately the school will be really grateful for your donations.
Thank you for your support.
Sponsorship
Another way of raising funds is through sponsorship. Parents and local companies can promote their business to an engaged audience from across Kenton and the surrounding areas. With over 450 children at St Bernadette's Nursery and Primary School and up to 1500 people attending our main events each year there's a huge network of individuals, families, friends and neighbours to reach.
Sponsorship plays a very big role in our fundraising efforts and in previous years our sponsors have donated food, raffle prizes, paid for the bouncy castle and other children’s attractions at the Summer Fete. Sponsorship opportunities include advertising at our events, sending kid centric advertising home in bookbags and sponsoring our annual calendar.
The Summer Fete in particular provides a fantastic opportunity for advertising, an afternoon of entertainment and socialising for the hundreds of families attending.  Popular stalls include Cakes, BBQ, Soak the Teacher and Bottle Tombola.  We have a range of amusements and rides to suit all ages.  The Fete features entertainment from local bands and artists and also showcases student talent.
The Fete gives everyone attending a taste of the School's strong community spirit, with sponsors, supporters, families and community groups coming together in an afternoon of celebration.
